So what does a creative do?

It's not about what we do

But who we are

The way we see the world

The way we interact

Not just with others, but ourselves, the world

We see the light in the dark spaces

Splash color in the black & white

Create solutions to problems you didn't even know existed

We bring emotions

We bring drama

We bring a new perspective

Where you might walk out to your car traveling to your next event distracted by what's next

I hear the crunching of the gravel like the beginning notes of a symphony under my embroidered shoes

I see the rocks arranged like a repeat pattern on display

I see the texture

The light casting subtle shadows

Hearing the car door open snaps me back to reality

But I can be lost forever in the midst of the beauty

I see beauty

I create beauty

Because I was made to emulate beauty

To be an extension of the most beautiful creator

So I'll continue to create in the midst of my finite existence

Painting, drawing, sewing, writing, dreaming, scheming

Knowing that all the beauty I wish I could soak in now will be even better when I am in the land of forever

Where I can hold beams of sunlight

Run with the rainbow

Enjoy the dew of the morning anytime

Hear the sweet singing of birds

Feel the crunch of leaves beneath my feet

And become even more in love with beauty itself

Because I know who is beauty

Being close to the one who created it
